So I bought aa Aluma 641 trailer on eBay last week to haul the Vics to my mother inlaws up nort when we go for the weekend.

I drove to the west side of Chicago and picked it up on Sunday. The ramp was up so pulling it against the wind with the Subaru was a challenge with the wind catching the ramp like a wind sock.

I pulled over on the shoulder of I-80 right away and lowered the ramp onto the deck. I was going to open the hatch back to put in the aluminum arm that I just took off...it was still locked. I went to the drivers door, hit the door lock switches, closed the door and went back to the hatch back again......still locked......all locked.......I locked myself out of my F&@%en car! :Horror: on the freeway :floor: with my cell in the car :gun: with an aluminum bar in my hand.

I tried to pick the lock with my pocket knife but no luck. So I took a good swing at the passanger side rear door window.......That sun of a buck is tough! several swings and 45 minutes of getting madder, I moved back one window to the quarter panel window. Swing and another bouce off! :Butt: The next swing did the trick!

It was kinda windy in the car on the way home! :BigLaugh: Thank god for full glass coverage! :Laugh1: It's in the shop getting a new window.

But I got a nice trailer out of the deal...sweet price too!

I always carry a spare set of keys with me when I travel, just in case something like this happens.

Johnny - it's no wonder why I pay so much for car insurance....(wanna come over and hit the fendors on my car....the little lady backed into it two weeks ago when I took the bike to work...)
After getting locked out of my car a couple...I mean once, I went to Autozone and bought a magnetic keyholder that I have hidden on the car...and I have had to use it a few....ah I mean...it's there incase I need it....

I think of it this way Johnny....It could have been worse.....

it could have been me.... :BigLaugh:

I was thinking of that very same thing on the way home...."I gotta get one of those magnet holders!"

I cannot get locked out of the Excursion...key pad on the door....I like that alot!

The misses and I did it once in the winter at Gander Mountain in Duluth. There we stood outside of our running car with no coats on. At least we could wait in the store for the locksmith to show up! :faceoff:

Plus I found a great Vikings hat to buy in the Middle of Wisconsin! :floor: Nice black leather to match my Vic jacket. Not all was lost! :BigLaugh:

hey, how about posting some pictures of that new trailer. Been looking to get an enclosed trailer, but the new ones are real pricey and some of the used ones Ive seen I think use to double as out-houses.

And if you were on the West side of Chicago, why the heck didnt you have your concealed carry with you....could of just shot the damn window out. :gun:

I didn't actually have to go into Chicago. Took I-39 down to I-80.

I was going to apply for a carry permit right when they reversed the law. Never got around to it since.

Here is a picture. $1000. they go for $1700 new.
