I have a forced air heater (ie..Nipco) that can burn multiple fuels (kerosene, #1 diesel, #2 diesel, and some others and am wondering what is the best fuel to burn to have the least smell?

Sitting in the garage stripping furniture with a forced air heater....I've been keeping 'er zip-locked tite and have enjoyed the ride.(the colors in my head can be pretty at these times) But, is darn sucker for production...

Any Ideas?

I too have one of them kind of heaters but havn't used it since I built my garage. The fuel that seemed to work the best for me with the least smell was Kerosene. Be sure to supply the heater with some fresh outside air and your set. Mills Fleet Farm usually has the lowest price for kerosene.

John I have a torpedo heater also, and I have found at fleetfarms stations, seem to have the cleaNEST KEROSENE, oops, other than the synthetic stuff you can buy for 3 times the price, other words fleetfarms seems to have the least smell,....

If you have a torpedo style heater kerosene burns the cleanest. If this is a furnace style heater #2 fuel oil burns well, costs less and has the highest btu output. Don't use any type of deisel fuel, you'll never get the smell out. Be extreemly careful with any type of portable fuel fired heating equipment in an enclosed space, CO buildup sneaks up on you and is deadly. It knocked me out once and that might explain some things about me.
