This is a copy of an email I sent to friends:

Hey all,

I am doing a fundraiser to raise some donation money. Now, most of you know I wouldn’t like to do the normal type fundraisers. (you know… where you have to exercise and such)

The two organizations I will be donating all of the money I raise are:

http://www.nmfa.org/site/PageServer (Military Children)

http://www.freedomisnotfree.com/

I will be riding my motorcycle 1000 miles in under 24 hours to raise the money. Now this may not sound like much, but try sticking your head out your sunroof or car window for a long while and see how you feel. I am most worried out my bad back – but, once I leave, it is all or none. The group that I am riding with hopes to get the ride done in about 18-19 hours.

If there is a lot of rain, we have to cancel the ride, but all the money will still get donated. I plan on gaining nothing from this, except some sunburn and blisters.

Any little bit helps.

Checks are welcome to both or either charity.

If Interested,
PM Me and I will send you my address.

That is a great idea to raise funds for these two fine organizations. Consider me your first contributor.

The ride will not be cancelled due to weather.

How did the fundraising go and where do I send my check? I hope I didn't slow you down to much at the stops on the SS1000. It seemed as if you couldn't get enough. My crystal ball says there is a BBG in your future.

The Fundraising went well. I am hoping to get over 500 total.

The Fundrasiers were a great success!
Total monies raised was $540.00!

The split was
http://www.nmfa.org/site/PageServer (Military Children) $275

http://www.freedomisnotfree.com/ $265

The money was sent in last week.

Thanks to all that donated - I couldn't have dont it with all your great help.

The two organizations take donations year round, and they don't have to financial contributions - there are many other ways to donate.

Thanks again all.
