I have an 05 Hammer with the S&S air cleaner and the Ness 2-1 pipe and the Victory dealers can't seem to get the fuel map right so I went ahead and purchased a Power Commander for my bike. I have a friend that has a friend with a dyno, so on Sunday I am going to have a fuel map made for my situation. I will let you know how it turns out and what kind of power it makes. I have heard a few negative things about the PC's, but Victory, nor S&S, nor Ness has any fuel maps for my setup. So I guess I will bit the bullet and spend the money for the dyno.:gun:

Warners did the exact setup on my Hammer and it ran great. Mark R has the same setup from Northway motor sports and his runs great. Not sure who you had do yours but there may be somethig else going on if either Warners or Northway did it.

I agree with Sid, there should be a cal from S&S that will work with your set up. I guess I should ask why you say the Victory dealer can't help. Did they try one and it doesn't work (you don't like it) or can't they decide which one to use. I have to ask, what dealer are you working with?
What brand of pipes do you have? Are your still at 100 or do you have it up to 106?
If you truly have a similar set up to Sid's and he likes his then your dealer just needs to put in the same cal.
Also, the S&S boys are very helpful with this kind of question. You might call them and ask what they recommend for your set up.
As for a Power Commander you will definitely want to run it up on a dyno, with someone who knows what they are doing and get the TPS right as well. Done right, they work pretty well. They aren't as accurate as calibration created for your set up.Those things are like putting a brain clamp on the ECU and fooling it into thinking it needs more fuel.

I put the PC on my 05 Hammer (Arlen Ness 2-1 and the S&S air cleaner) on Saturday, which wasn't a 15 minute deal like they said and didn't go in like the pictures showed (3 hours later). I think it might be because of the extra stuff from the rear LED's. I am not sure but it is in and running. I took it to the dyno (Boarhouse) on Sunday and spent 3 hours tuning it. The map that Warner's had put in was way off for the proper 13/1 fuel ratio you try to achieve. The map they had was way to rich on the low end and way to lean on the top end. I thought it was the opposite from riding it, but the computers don't lie. Anyway, I ended up at 99.3hp and 105.4torque. It still has a flat spot in 6th gear at about 2k when you roll on it, but I guess that's normal once you take out the stock air box. The idle was also very rich so we adjusted that. It is kind of a lot of work, but for $480 total (tuning & PC) it really made a big difference.

Sorry, I didn't answer your questions. Warner's and a few other Victory dealers told me that the Vic box has limited ways to adjust the fuel map if it doesn't come from Victory or S&S. Basically, a preset purchased map that is for exactly the components that I have on the bike doesn't exist. Even Llyods Motorworks fuel box doesn't adjust and have the tunability of a PC. The victory stage 1 map or the S&S map (goes with stage 1 slip on pipes) doesn't give you the perfect map for this particular set up, so that's why I decided to buy the PC and take it to the dyno. It definately seemed to make a difference.

Congratulations. It sounds like you got what you wanted.
