Thought for sure I had a bad voltage regulator, but got a new one installed and the voltage is still spiking around 18 volts when I run any kind of rpm's for more than a few seconds, and the idle voltage is reading lower than it used to since the alternator upgrade(used to be at 14.5 volts at idle or speed, now around 12.8 at idle, with variations at speed). Battery seems fine...anyone have any ideas?

Check for moisture in your regulator/stator connections. Mine likes to do that even on humid days. I still haven't done the upgrade yet. Lee

Thanks Lee...put a new stator in on Saturday afternoon...she's right back to normal now.
