I read recently that someone makes a front sprocket with a few more teeth, presumably to increase milage and reduce RPM's. Has anyone tried this? Is it available for my "03" TC? Where can it be purchased? Any downside to this sprocket? Thanks, Hank.
Conquest Customs is one place I know of that carries it. Here's a link to it:

There were a number of people who reported using it on the VMC website. I think the results were pretty favorable.

There is one sitting on my bench. It has 32T and was used when I rode my 03Vegas out to the Salt Flats in 04. I believe that all the 03 models used the same output shaft/spline. The new 100 inch motors use a larger diameter output shaft.
Your stock drive sprocket should be 30T so theoretically the 32T sprocket will lower your RPM and increase your MPG 6.25%. It will also decrease your acceleration.
Everything is a compromise.
If you are interested PM me.

BTW, word is it the larger front sprocket also does not affect your speedometer/odometer, since the speed sensor counts the front sprocket teeth as they go past the sensor, and is not based on the front sprocket revolutions.

OK, so I bought the sprocket from IBVic and put it on. So far I've had to do a considerable amount of work on the sprocket cover to relieve interference from the belt. I called turbotec, the manufacturer of the sprocket and they said there shoudn't be any interference. Baloney! Because of the oversize diameter of the sprocket, I had to relocate the speed sensor. I added a spacer made of aluminum and made in such a way that it held the sensor in place, not just a simple flat washer to gain the clearance. That works good. Right now I've painted the sprocket cover white inside and am waiting to get a good load on the back and take it around a hard corner to make sure I now have the clearance I need. The speed sensor is now .040 from the sprocket. Origionally it was .060, but the speed is within .5 mph, good enough for the girls that'll go out with me. Hank.

OK, I've put the TC thru the paces. Round a curve with the wife on back, into the turn at 80, out at 90. Wife won't ride with me anymore and the belt still touched the inside of the front sprocket cover a bit. I dremmeled out a little more metal and that should do it. I'll check it again this fall but I think I've got it now. Hank.
