Hello to all. I have been lurking in the shadows for a very long time and have seen a lot of great local destinations described here, and have visited a few, they have all been a treat.

On Saturday, Sept 6, I saw a couple dozen of you go by as I was waiting to get on County road 6 from County road 17 south of Delano and decided that I should get on the board to see what was going on with you guys. I may not have been able to join the ride, but it is nice to know what's happening nonetheless.

I will try to give a little information about myself without boring you all and without being too long winded. You see I have been around a long, long time.

I ride a '99 V92C, #34 that I bought from Kent back when Tri-K in Maple plain was a dealer for Victory in November of 1999. Since then I've racked up 58,000 miles on that same bike, had a number of engine problems, burned a few bridges at Victory, (maybe some of you have read my work on other boards, but I'm in a much happier place now because my ride is running again), Met and worked with 5 different dealers, (2 of whom are still around), and have begun my healing process.

I was the original Ride Coordinator for this area back in 2000, and my wife and I have done some modeling work in the 2002 and 2003 accessories catalog along with some others of you on this board, and we appeared in a store display or two.

I know, and have worked with Dean at Warner's and he has my utmost respect and gratitude. I also knew Jeff at Garceau's when they were a dealer, Kent at Tri-K, Brett when he was with Tri-K, Delano Sport Center, and now Diggers in Victoria, and have just recently made a couple of stops at Mies in Watkins, (Wow, what a store!) I have a friend named Pud who is the best mechanic that I have ever met, and that's saying a lot since I am or have been the Service Manager at 4 local forklift dealers here in the Twin Cities over the past 20 years and know a lot of great Mechanics. He and I are now doing most of the work on 34 that needs to be done because of economic reasons as well as I don't get to see him as much as I would like and this is a great way to get together.

I don't know if I will be able to attend many of the local rides, but I have met some of you, and will most likely meet many more. I am a little opinionated but I can assure you all that I mean you no harm or ill will. When I talk too much my daughter usually tells me, "Dad, Shut-up! You're dumb!" You are all welcome to do the same.

This is a lot of information and you may be thinking to yourself, "who gives a rat's... Well, I felt that if I wanted to get up to par I would have to give you as much information as you could stand. I have a content filter at my office that prevents me from accessing this forums board at work, so any posting for me will have to be after hours. It's funny, I can access other boards at work but not this one.

Thanks for indulging me and I hope to meet you all very soon. Ride safe, Ride hard, Ride free.

I enjoyed your tale on the VMC about getting your exhaust valve problem resolved.

Welcome!

Thanks for the welcome guys. My front cylinder would burn off the exhaust valves every 2 years or 14,000 miles whichever came first. Unfortunately we were not addressing the cause of the problem, just rebuilding the head and slapping it back together.

This last time Pud and I did the work oruselves and sent the heads, intake and fuel system to Lloydz Motorworkz in New York. They determined that the intake manifold was warped allowing the front cylinder to run lean. This was made worse by a weak fuel injector that the dyno showed at the AVR in August.

The intake has been shaved and updated, I have parts now and will wrap 34 back up and should be good for a while now. I guess we will know in 14,000 miles if it worked or not. Lloyd's dyno showed 70 hp and 85 ft/lbs of torque on a totally stock bike with the airbox cover still on. Plenty strong for 58,000 miles. I am really looking forward to loving this bike again. It is so solid, steady, and predictable, it is like wearing an old shoe.
