My '95 R100 GSPD will be offered for sale on consignment in the next few weeks at Douglas & Frye Motorcycle Engineering, in Sterling IL. I've had many good times with it, but my dual-sported XR650R claimed a place in my heart on my recent Ouray/Moab trip. I can't ride three motorcycles, so one has to go. I haven't decided on a price. Make an offer if you're interested. Similarly equipped, low mileage Paralever GSPD's are listing in the mid- to high 7,000s at dealers who have one. I will deal to move it. For those who aren't familiar with it, this model is the ultimate machine for comfortable long distance touring with capability to blast down any gravel road (and I do mean blast - I've sustained 70 mph on gravel in comfort) and ride any easy to moderate jeep trail. The newer "oilhead" GS models are too heavy for it it, in my opinion. The gas tank holds 9.3 gallons and it has heated hand grips.

Back up to the Home Page and read my trip reports while you're there, especially the Sept. 2004 Ouray/Moab reports.

I'm the original owner and it has about 20,000 miles. BMW Motorrad of St. Louis worked it over thoroughly at about 18,000 miles with instructions to find and fix anything on it that needed attention. The steering head bearings were OK but they had the forks off anyway to install RaceTech Gold Valve emulators, so it got new bearings. They also gave it a new starter motor and throttle cables, and reported that the spline was in good condition. Recent compression check was good also. The tach and brake light aren't working but Douglas & Frye will fix that and do all routine maintenance before sale. Rich Frye is an excellent mechanic, works on all brands, and owned a '90 GSPD once. With these repairs I'll be able to say its in excellent mechanical condition. Asthetically it shows signs of being riden, like some paint being rubbed off the side covers and wear on the tail luggage rack.

Here's what ya get:
- Race Tech gold valve emulators in front suspension - only 2000 miles on them
- Fox Twin-Clicker Shock - only 2000 miles on it
- Corbin Solo Seat & rain cover
- BMW dual saddle, new unused.
- Bar Backs for improved handlebar reach (hard to find for this model due to big gas tank)
- Happy Trails aluminum panniers with top racks
- Parabellum Tall Touring windshield
- Passenger footpegs
- Original windshield and seat
- BMW OEM mounting brackets for BMW hard bags (brackets new unused - bags long gone)
- Battery Tender with leads on battery
- Tires in good condition.
- Battery two years old and always maintained on battery tender
