Flaming Accident

Figured I better post this here so I do not have to repeat the details 100 times.

Need to tell the story of the flame out. Key word is STUPID! Went out and lite the gas grill, went in house and seasoned meat. 20 minutes later went out to put the meat on the grill. Grill cold. Checked no flame. Must have run out of gas. Shut valves go in and get reserve tank. Return take hose off old tank and pick up tank and find it seems half full. So wonder why flame went out.

Reconnect hose to old tank. Open lighting hole on grill, light match in long holder to insert in hole to burner. Place left hand on gas turn on valve so to be able to turn on gas when match is near the burner. Begin to put match in hole went the flames came out on all the holes like a flame thrower. Try to move back and avoid flame and hope it... See More does not burn through gas hose and really go up. Make sure all valves are off and run into house yelling to clear the kitchen sink.

Fill the sink with cold water for left hand and arm. Have Heidi add ice. Put towels in cold water and cover both knee area. The smell of burnt hair is bad from legs, arm, beard. and head.

Jeez Bill! First of all, I hope you didn't burn any skin too badly and that any damage to you is limited to your pride and your hair.

Second, that's a helluva way to trim your hair and beard!

I really hope you're okay...

Maybe switching to an electric grill would safer for a electrician.

Had similar burns on my back, your wounds are worse and look painful.
